Elina’s Story
She was abducted from the only home she ever knew. She was subjected to unimaginable violence, treated as a slave, forced to provide sexual acts to strangers. She is only 12-years-old. Elina, a survivor of human sex trafficking came to GET SAFE as a fragile, broken child. She couldn't make eye-contact with our trainers, let alone find the strength to keep herself safe. After a series of personally designed classes with GET SAFE, we saw an empowered, assertive young woman, who has regained a positive and hopeful outlook on life. Get Safe has been honored to be a part of her recovery. Elina is now thriving at school and at home, knowing, although her past is a part of her, it does not dictate who she is.
