GET SAFE CREATES

#CHANGE

SAFETY EDUCATION  ⬩  DE-ESCALATION  ⬩  EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION

The GET SAFE® mission is to inspire our community to become a “Changemaker” within their circle of influence. We believe with this mindset, it is possible to positively change the outcome of our society. We provide effective solutions to de-escalate violence, prevent sexual abuse, and instruct compelling solutions to protect at-risk individuals. We educate our community in personal safety, effective communication, and embolden survivor recovery.

With powerful, highly-interactive violence prevention, crisis intervention, and recovery programs, GET SAFE® personifies an effective approach to de-escalate the onset of anger, indifference, and conflict. By bridging topics such as violence, abuse, and intolerance, GET SAFE® educates, informs, and empowers our community to develop personal and workplace safety, anti-bullying youth awareness, law enforcement crisis intervention and de-escalation tactics, sexual assault prevention, and survivor recovery.

Join our "Movement for Change", and together we can learn to lead stronger, safer lives.

"I had been through countless therapy sessions and read just about every recovery book, but nothing came close to Get Safe's training allowing me to heal properly."

- Sarah, Survivor of Violent Crime

OUR MOVEMENT FOR #CHANGE

At GET SAFE®, we passionately strive to empower the lives of people using our concept of  “Changing Mindsets, Changing Outcomes”.

With highly interactive and engaging violence prevention, crisis intervention and recovery programs, we enable a skillset that promotes the best practice when confronted with the onset of anger, indifference, and conflict.

GET SAFE® has positively impacted the lives of more than 500,000 people of all ages and abilities since its inception 35 years ago. Through its violence prevention, safety education and advocacy programs, GET SAFE® remains committed to impacting the lives of persons of divergent backgrounds; protecting the well-being of students; and building safer, more inclusive communities.

In 1984, Founder and CEO Stuart Haskin branched off to explore initiating a comprehensive training that would target individuals, families, and communities on a grander scale. Choice Personal Safety was the first agency to emerge from this idea, specializing in survivor empowerment and unique self-defense recovery. Three years later, after being certified by the state of California as a Crisis Intervention and Sexual Assault Counseling agency, Choice Personal Safety transformed into the now titled GET SAFE®.

Since 1990, GET SAFE® has expanded to encompass a variety of programs to meet specific needs for at-risk communities, including children's safety programs for anti-bullying, workplace safety and healthy relationship programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and survivor programs tailored to provide trauma care, self-defense safety modules, and psychoeducational classes on sexual assault and rape. GET SAFE® also provides law enforcement trainings to more safely identify and interact with persons with developmental disabilities, mental illness, and substance abuse.

OUR CULTURE OF #CHANGE

Members of the GET SAFE® Team

GET SAFE® is an ever expanding agency, scaling to fit the demand of trainings for law enforcement, workplace professionals, and at-risk individuals. We are an international team, with members stationed all over the country, as well as abroad. We recognize with growth, comes greater responsibility. We believe success is in the details, and stand firm on cultivating a culture that welcomes diversity, empathy, and hope. This is how we have developed a professional, yet connected team devoted to changing our community for the better.
