PROJECT GET SAFE (PGS)

With your help, we can 'Change Our Mindset, Change Our Outcome"...

WHAT IS PGS?
Project GET SAFE is an operating non-profit arm of GET SAFE. It's function is to effectively give back to the community by empowering individuals and groups, helping fund safety, awareness and healthy relationship training for those unable to afford GET SAFE’s highly specialized services. When you contribute to Project GET SAFE, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) corporation, you are giving the precious gift of a safe and violence-free life. Your donation can provide empowerment services to a survivor of sexual assault, prevent a future violent crime, or help break the cycle of abuse in the life of someone with developmental disabilities. You are providing a chance for transformation in the lives of those who need it most.

PGS PROGRAMS
The following programs are variations and/or simplified versions of GET SAFE's standard programs. Through PGS, GET SAFE's non-profit arm, these serviced programs become available when supported through grants, private-funding, donations, or partnership fundraisers. GET SAFE is a proud provider of individual and community empowerment programs, and Project GET SAFE allows freedom and opportunity to further expand services to in-need populations.
BRIDGING THE DIVIDE PROGRAM
This civic engagement program is an initiative to create a collaborative between community and law enforcement by delivering training to law enforcement and the community with the intention of solidifying the relationship of law enforcement and the communities they serve. GET SAFE prides itself in the strong relationships it has established amongst hundreds of law enforcement agencies, and thousands of individuals in the community. The implementation of Bridging the Divide is a direct need of law enforcement and the community alike.
ADVOCACY FOR
PERSONS W/ DISABILITIES

GET SAFE's Self-Determination & Personal Safety Programs help prevent and respond to many of the issues that often lead to the physical, emotional, mental, sexual and/or financial abuse of persons with developmental disabilities by informing and instructing students on how to speak up and advocate for their safety, rights, and needs. GET SAFE provides training, assessment and advocacy services tailored to people with developmental disabilities, their families and staff regarding violence prevention, intervention and self-determination.
BACKOFF! BUDDY CAMPUS PROGRAM

The GET SAFE BACKOFF! Buddy Bullying Prevention & Personal Safety Program is comprised of three distinct segments: Bullying Prevention, Personal Safety, & Inclusion Training. The program is designed to provide students with the skills to reduce and prevent violence and abuse at home, school and in the community. The program educates both young men and women on the causes and effects of violent behavior and provides them with the tools to help stop the 'cycle of violence' before it starts, or to help prevent the likelihood of re-victimization or perpetration.
BREAKING BARRIERS SURVIVOR PROGRAM

This training has been carefully designed for survivors of violence from many walks of life, including survivors of: domestic violence, rape, sexual assault and abuse, human exploitation and tracking, military/law enforcement survivors of rape or sexual assault, and crime violence survivors. Our approach combines counseling and group processing with personal safety education and self-defense training, encouraging participants to confront their trauma to push their recovery to new levels, empowering them to truly view themselves as survivors, rather than victims.
