Be mindful to not assume someone's name. As a general rule, ask what they want to be called.

She screams at you that her name is not Ashley. She starts hyperventilating and is clearly agitated by this. You start over with an apology and ask her what her name is or what she wants to be called.

Ashley tells you that she doesn't identify as a female, uses they/them pronouns, and prefers to called "Z".
